Our Team

  • Dave Gates

Dave is the President/CEO of Tenor. He directs day-to-day operations, new talent acquisitions, marketing, and artist/venue relations.

Dave is a professional musician whose journey began in 2018 when he first picked up a guitar. Since then, his passion and dedication have propelled him to remarkable heights in the music industry. Dave's distinctive style and infectious energy have captivated audiences across the United States, where he has performed at over 1000 gigs at various iterations of live music venues.

Dave founded Tenor Artist Management after witnessing firsthand the widespread mistreatment of artists, including himself, by talent management companies across the country. Frustrated by agencies that merely collected booking fees without providing any real benefits to artists, Dave identified a critical need for an artist-focused, musician-driven management company.

His vision for Tenor Artist Management is rooted in creating a paradigm shift in the industry. Dave aims to pioneer a company that prioritizes the well-being and success of artists, venues, and musical communities over profit margins. With a mission to provide top-tier support and ethical treatment, Dave is dedicated to eliminating exploitative practices and promoting artist representation and independence in the music industry.

Through Tenor Artist Management, Dave Gates is committed to fostering a fair and supportive environment where artists can thrive creatively and professionally, ensuring that every partnership and interaction is geared towards mutual success and growth.
